They provide clients with a bespoke and personalised service, matching you with dedicated and professional nannies, to fit your family’s unique dynamic.
Tell us a little bit about the history of the business and its ethos?
After teaching for 5 years I could see how difficult it is to find quality child care, I knew there would be a need for this kind of service. I wanted to utilise my early years training and find like minded professionals, who had chosen a career path in childcare. The aim was to find nannies who are really passionate about what they do.
What do you think are the ingredients that make a good nanny ?
I ask this question a lot when interviewing nannies and speaking to families.
But some critical qualities I look for are:
•enthusiasm and adaptability
•a caring maternal nature
•someone organised who can plan ahead
•someone professional and committed
What marks you out as different from other nanny agencies ?
We offer a personalised services and take the time to understand the needs of each family. We are a small agency so we only take on clients who share our ethos. We have a whole lot of respect for our nannies and want them to be happy in their jobs.
What’s your typical referral path? How do people hear about you?
We have just launched a new referral scheme as we were getting so many word of mouth client referrals. Now, if you refer a friend and they become a client we will post you a box of fancy wine worth £70 !!
Tell us about the areas you cover, is it just London or do you reach further afield?
We cover the whole of London. We are starting to venture further afield, yes! UK and Europe!
What are the highs and lows of your job?
It’s rewarding making great connections for both the families and the nannies. Choosing childcare can be such a stressful process, so I feel pleased to be able to offer parents a service to remove the admin and time consuming work it takes to find the right person.
If you could visit one of your nannies anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I am such a city person, so it would have to be either Paris or Lisbon.
Favourite way to spend the weekend in London?
Salisbury Road Farmers Market, then a picnic in Queen’s Park. On Sundays, I like to see family and consume a roast dinner in a nice pub!
What brings you joy?
Life brings me joy, I like trying new things. While I like a routine, I am always trying to diversify it with new activities, places and even people. I recently started a kickboxing class!
How do you unwind after a busy day?
I mostly work from home, so I find getting out on a run a great way to unwind. Then cooking for me, is extremely therapeutic and is a chance to switch off.
Where do you hope to be in 10 years ?
Nanny Circle nurseries.
If there was no Nanny Circle what would you be doing?
Building something, maybe a Grand Designs!
Tell us a secret ?
I have most of my ideas at night, just as I am supposed to be falling asleep.
